Aspiring culinary artists are invited to join Geeta Maini at Le Chef
Complet for classes in Indian cooking. Classes are presented in a menu
based demonstration format which lasts three hours with a full three
course meal served.
Geeta can also organize corporate team building events by incorporating her culinary skills and providing all day classes.
Intimate and more private get togethers can also be organized
in the comfort of people’s homes which would include a mini cooking
lesson as well as an entire Indian meal.
A SAMPLE MENU:
APPETIZERS
Mixed Vegetable Pakoras (Deep Fried Vegetable Fritters) served
with a coriander chutney Green Coriander and Tamarind shrimp.
ENTREES
Butter Chicken
Cauliflower and Potatoes
Raitha (Yoghurt with Cucumber)
Vegetable Rice Pullao
Indian bread….parathas
Pappadums and Pickles
DESSERT
Ice cream with grilled cardamom pineapple
Assorted Indian Sweets
Chai (Indian tea)
Outline for the afternoon:
1. Overview of the spices and ingredients
2. Split the groups into 2 sets of 3
3. Chop and prepare some of the vegetables.
4. Prepare onions for chicken
5. Prepare base for the cauliflower and potatoes.
6. Each group will attempt making the Pakoras and I will finish off
7. I will prepare the sauce for the shrimp appetizer
8. Wash and make rice
9. Every guest will attempt to make the breads and I will finish off if need be.
Guests will then enjoy the meal followed by dessert and Indian chai.
The above schedule is only an outline of what you can expect for the afternoon.
Menus can be created to suit specific needs. I will be teaching the
basics of Indian food with some adventure and making it a fun afternoon.
Geeta will be also offering classes during the day for moms
whose kids are at school, they will learn the techniques and can take a
meal home for the family for an additional cost.
